Image types

JPEG- Joint Photographic Experts Group

GIF- Graphics Interchange Format

PNG- Portable Network Graphics

BITMAP- Does not have abbreviation

PSD- Photo Shop Data file



These different image file formats are mainly used for specific things like 3D imaging or just a 2D image just from a digital camera.

JPEG is most commonly and best used on the web and it is used for printing things.

GIF is fr short films used on the web and sometimes in games.

PNG is used for web pages

BITMAP is a type of memory organisation or image file format used to store digital images

PSD is used for Photo Shop and works with all image file formats (apparently)


Some image files are bigger then others.
